Day 18

Wudang Mountain! (武当山)
We had to work up very early as the bus trip to Wudang Mountain will be very long.
We were suppose to gather at 6.50am, but I woke up at 6.30am!
I quickly rush to the toilet and guess what, the toilets were being used.
So I still had to wait for about ten minutes.
Quickly showered, packed my bag and ran to gather.

Firstly, we went to have our breakfast at a restaurant and then we headed for Wudang Mountain. The whole journey took us six hours.

Since it's getting late, we only went to the first few places of Wudang Mountain.

The Wudang Mountain is very high and the sceneries are beautiful, it's almost like a paradise here.

Below is something we came across at the temple.
Its a group of Wudang diciples practising Wushu.

If you observe more clearly, their hands are all swollen. It's either because they are practicing their Wushu, or they went through some tough training such as punching which caused their hands to swell. Futhermore, these disciples are very young. When any one of them made a mistake in the practice, their Master or Shifu will give him a light punch on the stomach as a punishment. From what I think, because there were many people watching them, the Shifu only gave a light punch. But if during normal practice, the punishment may be greater.

We then had our dinner at the same restaurant and we went to hotel to stay over.
Its a 2-star hotel and I think it's quite good already. The room is big and comfortable. Most importantly, the toilets are very clean and in good condition. The heater is working well as well.

Day 19

Today we headed to the higher parts of Wudang and the to the peak.
Our group decided to take Cablecar, since from what we have heard, climbing up will take a longer time.
However, we took a longer time instead. And the reason is the LONG queue for the cablecar. And a lot of things happened in the queue. There were a group of people wanting to cut the queue, and that created a quarrel.

From this experience, I know that there are many local people who do not follow the rules of queueing. And the worst thing is that they are still argueing even though they are in the wrong.

Sceneries of Wudang Mountain near the peak.

We left Wudang Mountain at about 4pm
So once again, we took the same bus back to our hostel. However, this time the trip turned out to be longer than before. I am not too sure why, but I think the driver took another way as he had an appointment or so.

Anyways, I truly enjoyed the 2-days-1-night trip to Wudang Mountain. It should be the first time I am so high up, other than taking a plane. I love the sceneries and I learnt some of their culture such as how they pray and to what gods. It is a great experience for me.
